Stefania Boiano NGOs photography

travel & ngo photography

Stefania is a travel & humanitarian photographer and educator based in London, UK,

She creates images that convey the dignity of vulnerable and oppressed people, the beauty of the eyes of different cultures, the poetry of little everyday human gestures as well as the light that plays with nature and the environment around us.

As a humanitarian photographer Stefania has been working for NGOs and charities in the fields of social change, youth and community development, education and skills development, women empowerment and environmental conservation
Some of the NGOs she has worked for include New Humanity, CamToMe Onlus, Cooperation for Prosperity, Don Bosco International School and WWF.

As a travel photographer and educator, she has worked for
magazines and cultural institutions such as KEL12, Central Saint Martins, Malta Tourism Authority and Florence Academy of Fine Arts.

Her travels have taken her through Africa, South East Asia, India, Central America and Europe. Every trip is a deep human experience that makes her feel the urge to share it with the rest of the world.

From a more artistic angle, Stefania's background is in Visual Arts and Humanities, and this is the match that ignites her personal visual research, which continually investigates the interaction between human beings and our relationship with the environment in today's society.

If you want to discuss a project, or just exchange some ideas, feel free to get in touch.

photography workshops

Drawing on her previous career in visual design and lecturing, Stefania is an engaging educator, an inspiring visual artist, a creative professional, entrepreneur and life-long adventurer.

Stefania's workshops are designed to engage people just starting out in photography, as well as those who already know how to use a DSLR camera but feel the need to improve both the aesthetic side and storytelling qualities of their photographs. The goal is, in fact, not only to teach technical skills but also to give people the ability to see the world with an artistic and photographic eye.

Stefania teaches workshops to adults and young people, and has also worked as a photo instructor for NGO staff on location, enabling them to be more self-sufficient in their visual communication.

Stefania is an Award for Education and Training (AET) certified learning facilitator who has taught at the Central Saint Martins in London, many universities across Italy (including Milan, Florence, Turin, Rome and Naples) and for NGO projects on location. She has also published articles and books that focus on visual design.
